Tell us a little bit about yourself. My name is Louise, I'm a 30-something part-time digital artist living in Yorkshire, England. I've been working with digital designs for 20 years and enjoy doing custom illustrations and making image stock which I sell on my blog. I also enjoy creating blog designs, making digital scrapbooking kits and even doing a little digital scrapbooking when I have time. My other passions are photography, visiting art galleries and museums as well as foreign travel and swimming. I would love to be a full time designer, but I also have a "day job" working in a materials lab, which I love and which indulges my science geeky side :)

What do you most enjoy creating? My favourite thing is custom illustration and vector graphics. I love taking a family photo and creating a vector graphic of each family member. People are always really surprised how much the character looks like them and are so excited to start showing off their "vector family". I also love making image stock; there's just something about taking my graphics tablet and pen and then scribbling away and watching the characters come alive in front of me. You should try it, it's very addictive :)

What inspires you? I get a lot of my inspiration from my clients and things which I see around me - that might be a fabric swatch which has some really beautiful colours, or a new shirt with a pattern to die for. I'm constantly on the look out for colours, patterns, shapes, styles...anything that can be used to create a design. People often ask me where they can get inspiration and the first thing I always say is "look inside your closet" because inside there you will find a wondrous (if not cluttered) world of colours, textures, patterns and shapes.
