Tell us a little bit about yourself. Well, they call me Sally, I can be described as a little bit crazy, and I'm a musician. I'm a fifteen year old freshman girl at the local high school, a good student, but happiest when I'm in band class. I am the epitome of a band geek. I'm the girl who does everything music from school based concert band/wind ensemble, jazz bands, and gold medal marching band, to conducting, composing and arranging music, auditions, honors and all-state festivals and private lessons. I played lead trumpet in the pit band for our performance of the musical Les Misérables. It's all lead trumpet, all music, all the time. And I love it. It is truly what I have been called to do. When I'm not doing music, which is rare I like to dabble in other artsy/scholarly types of things like writing (including blogging), reading and photography, and also make time to make the church an important part of my life. I love my friends, they're so amazing, I love my band, they're the best of the best, I love my family, I love my church, I love in general so much in this life. Because what's not to love? Life is always beautiful, even in the darkest of times.
What do you most enjoy creating? Of course I love composition and creating music. It's stress-relieving and fun. However, I also really love to capture great moments with my camera. I started really taking a lot of pictures when I got my new, and quite good camera for my fourteenth birthday a little over a year ago. My camera takes really amazing close up macro shots, especially of flowers, hence the picture I am giving away in this weekly giveaway. Though my camera looks small, it is actually the highest quality camera without being a DSLR, a 2010 Sony CyberShot, and I love using it to create artistic and pretty pictures.
What inspires you? Inspiration, huh? Different things inspire me for different things, ideas in songs on the radio or on CD's give me sparks of imagination for new songs to write, everything around me inspires me to bring out my camera and take pictures, the the treble clef drawn on my left wrist and the bass clef on my right inspire me to never give up because I still have my music. And everyday, at least one person becomes an inspiration to me. It's rarely the same person two days in a row, but everything, and everybody can be an inspiration to me.
