Liquid Sunshine Giveaway & Blog Party is on!

All done! Click here for winners!

Clarification: Guys, please do NOT comment to enter! I've had like ten people already try that; I'm sorry, your comments were not published. This is a blog party; you answer the questions in a post on your blog (or tumblr or vlog or whatever) and then add the link to the Linky tool in THIS POST, then the winners are selected from the Linky! Guess that wasn't clear enough.

Anyway, the party is on! What's it all about, what are the questions, and what are the magnificent prizes? Click here to find out and enter away using the Linky at the bottom of this post!

Here're mine:

Favorite season, and why?
Fall, because I love how the air smells, and how it's chilly but not freezing. Anything above 80º and I start wilting. Like a delicate flower. A delicate flower that sweats.

How would you describe your personal style?
Vintage chic with a modern twist. I like experimenting with different styles, and 90% of my clothes are either high-end from Goodwill or vintage from my basement. I guess you could call me "cheap chic"; does that exist?

What's one weird thing you can do? (The stranger the better!)
If my hands are tied/handcuffed together, I can step right over them. For some reason this weirds people out. I think it's a useful skill in case I'm ever kidnapped, arrested, or otherwise trying to escape from something.

Rain or shine?
My answer is found in the lyrics of the Beatles song Rain. I don't really mind. Probably more of shine because my hair doesn't like the rain. My mind does, though.

Confession time... what's a flaw of yours?
I can be over-confident. A lot. For some people this equals "vain and narcissistic". Personally, I think it's better to have a too-high self-esteem than a too-low one. I mean, if you stand in front of a mirror looking awful and are able to say "I look great", then walk to school with your head held high, nobody's going to say you look awful. They're going to say "hmm that must be some new trend" and go about their business.

Favorite music?
Honestly, on my iPod Eminem and Enya are right next to each other. It's very varied. I like Rihanna and Owl City, the Beatles and the Gorillaz, Space vs Speed (hi dad) and Ke$ha, Regina Spektor and Paramore. Right now my favorite weird-music song is this chunk of amazingness.

Have you ever made a decision you instantly regretted? What was it?
Yup, I've made lots. Perhaps the most humorous was when I decided (at age four) it would be a great idea to stick my head through the back of a chair. It took me what seemed like hours to get out.

Who do you admire/look up to?
Huge Audrey Hepburn girl right here. Classy, fashionable, full of words of wisdom like "I believe in pink." Because that is the best quote ever. I also love Michelle Obama.

You've just won an unlimited lifetime supply of... what?
Clothes. All sorts of clothes, whatever clothes I wanted. I'd pretty much die of happiness. (Is that materialistic?)

If you were an animal, what would you be?
A sparrow! It's taken my ages to come up with the perfect answer, and I finally figured it out. Sparrow, sparrow, sparrow. Think about it: sparrows are brown and quick and never stay still and are talkative and like being the center of attention. And they're spunky. I consider myself pretty spunky. So me = sparrow.

If you knew you were going to die in a year, what would you do with your time?
I'd spend my year visiting every city and remote island I could across the entire world and giving away all my stuff in the final month. Anyone want the birdcage? (Kidding. I'm keeping my birdcage. I'm not dying. Sorry.)

You're now a gazillionaire... where do you go to spend your money?
Three guesses what my answer is, y'all... clothes and shoe and makeup stores, of course. Like, a million of them. « wow. that sounds really shallow. true, though.

Classical music: love it or hate it?
I used to truly despise it and the entire radio station of NPR. Since I discovered This American Life I tolerate NPR. For some reason that's linked in my mind to classical music, so I tolerate it, I suppose.

Phobias?
Lakes. Lakes, ponds, rivers, brooks, streams, and any fresh water that doesn't have a healthy dose of chlorine in it. I can't explain it; I love the ocean and would much prefer to swim in an ocean over a pool. But it takes a great deal of coaxing/pulling/kidnapping to get me into even Sebago Lake, which is probably the cleanest and clearest lake in Maine.

Hop on a plane and go live somewhere for a year... where is it, and why?
London. Because I've never been, and I think it would be awesome. (I would say Paris, but at the moment I do not speak French. Sad sad sad.)

Are you an extrovert or an introvert?
Extrovert. Do you want a hug or a handshake?

Would you/do you perform on stage?
Yuppers. I act, I've sung, I've played an instrument, I've played an instrument and sung and acted at the same time.

If...

If I were a gemstone, I’d be a tiger's eye.

If I were a scent, I’d be the smell of crisp autumn air.

If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be high-fashion heels.

If I were the weather, I would be a snow flurry.

If I were a facial expression, I'd be a quirky half-smile.

If I were a car, I'd be an antique VW Beetle.

If I were a time of day, I’d be the grey-lighted dawn.

If were a month, I’d be October.

If I were a place, I'd be an ancient house by the ocean in the woods.

If I were a liquid, I’d be seawater.

If I were a taste, I’d be molasses ginger cookies.

If I were a sea animal, I’d be a porpoise.

If I were a food, I’d be a key lime pie.

If I were a color, I'd be a muted turquoise.

If I were a musical instrument, I would be the chimes.

If I were a flower, I’d be a wild Indian Paintbrush.

If I were a song, I’d be the song that expresses every emotion all at once (I have yet to find this song).

If I were a planet, I’d be Pluto. Which is a planet.

If I were an object, I would be an old pair of well-loved riding boots.

If I were a fruit, I'd be a mango.

If I were a sound, I’d be the sound of the ocean crashing on a beach.

If I were a day of the week, I’d be Saturday.

If you were to take this tag, what would your answers be?

21 July 2010

A very long (and incredibly deep) tag from Elrania

Ahh. This shall be interesting, shan't it? :)

When was the last time you saw someone attractive?
About five seconds ago, when I was flipping though Seventeen magazine and found a girl with hair like mine and was thrilled.

Where's your phone right now?
In its charger.

Do you have any plans for the weekend?
Yes! My dear friend Elizabeth and I are going to Snow Island (yes, the island Elránia and I visited)

Has someone ever made you a promise and broke it?
Absolutely. Many times over.

Last movie/DVD watched?
Do old TV series count? Because my family is currently in an X-Files craze, thanks to Netflix direct streaming. :P

Does anything hurt on your body?
My arm. I got a bruise sailing a little boat. Ow. :(

How are you?
Pretty good.  A bit of a cough, but the medicine I just drank is starting to work.

Are you excited for next year?
I wasn't until a couple days ago... Now I most certainly am!

Is your room clean?
Actually, yes... my friend Sammy is coming over so I made it all neat and stuff.

How many pillows do you sleep with?
One

What are you doing?
What kind of question is that? What do you THINK I'm doing, you dumb tag?!

I bet you miss somebody right now?
A bit

What are you planning on doing after this?
Making sure my cousin doesn't swallow Legos. He's four with a vocabulary in both Norwegian and English to rival most adults, and an IQ to match, so I'm not too concerned...

Have you ever read an entire book in one day?
Haha, yes, many times!

Who did you push last?
Um... I don't know, I don't really push people.

Who was the last person you had a deep conversation with?
Probably Elránia. I called her and said, "Hello, I have a deep philosophical musing, can you talk?" True story.

Do you own any band t-shirts?
Yes, a lot! That's what comes of a father who is either in personally or knows people in at least fifteen different bands at any given time. Most recently: I actually purchased my OWN, instead of taking my dads': a 'Queen' shirt from Delia's. It is amazing.

What does your hair look like right now?
Really, really curly, because it's damp. Usually it's just pretty curly. Right now I rival Afro-Man.

Has anyone ever told you that you were their best friend?
Yes, but only in elementary school. Now I have too many friends for that to happen much! I have about four best friends. ;)

Did you get hurt today?
Yes. See aforementioned bruise on arm.

When was the last time you felt upset?
Um... does being indignant count? Because if so, about fifteen minutes ago.

What are you looking forward to?
Hugging my cat, as she is terrified of thunderstorms, and there happens to be a very violent happening right now, with pouring rain, shaking thunder, and neat lightning.

Do you currently want something?
Yes, I want a lot of things, most notably for my cousin to stop pestering me about the Lego teapot.

What was the last thing you had to drink?
Water, I think. Or maybe that iced coffee. Yum.

Who was the last person you said "i love you" to?
Ummm... my dad, perhaps?

Where are you?
In a ridiculously awesome 1950's swoopy armchair that makes me feel like a princess ("rescued" for $60 from a yard sale), on my lovely silver laptop, in my nice warm bedroom in my cozy little house. I am very happy with my surroundings at the moment.

Do you like to walk in the rain?
Depends. Do I get an umbrella, cute boots, and my camera? :P

Do you like looking up at the stars?
Absolutely. :)

Do you think you are a nice person?
Yes, I think so. I'm flawed (who isn't?) but I'm generally pleasant. Unless I really, really want to annoy you.

Do you like swimming?
YES! But not in ponds. Or lakes. Gross. Oceans are lovely though! So are pools. *sigh* Swimming rocks.

Have you ever swam in the ocean?
Haha! Yes, I practically LIVE in the ocean!

Do you go to school?
Yep, sadly...

Do you want to go to college?
Definitely! Photojournalism and book-writing, here I come!

What do you want to be?
Aforementioned photojournalist-slash-author. Or actress, should the opportunity come along. Continuing my modeling career wouldn't be bad either.

Do you want kids?
Um, not right now!
Do you like going to the beach?
YES!

Who is the last person you went to the mall with?
My friend Sammie.

Have you ever had any x-rays?'
Nooooo.... those are SO creepy...

Who do you hate right now?
Haha... actually, nobody, really... wow, that's a change...

Who is the last person you yelled at?
I think my mom... But not really yelling, just kind of an annoyed tone of voice... she was annoyed right back, so it's all good.

Who was the last to cook you food?
Me ;)

Are you in a complicated relationship?
Nope, I'm single and free as a bird at the moment. Though if (insert boy's name here) doesn't stop giving me eyes I may have to confront him about that.

What did you do 2 nights ago?
Probably watched X-Files, due to aforementioned family obsession

Who was the last person you were on the phone with?
Sammy
Does a hug make you feel better?
Depends...

How long ago did you hug someone?
Um... I don't remember...

Anything good happening tomorrow?
Ehh not particularly

Have you kissed more than ten people this year?
Other than one boy and my parents... My total is three.

Do you have unlimited texting?
Nope

Will you keep your last name when you get married?
Ugh, no, my first and last name are the same as a certain "adult" actress. They're both terribly common.

You have to get a piercing, what do you get?
Either a second hole in my ears or my bellybutton. Never my tongue or nose. Ew.

Have you ever felt like someone of the opposite sex truly cared about you?
Yes, most definitely!

Who was the last friend you got into a big argument with?
Probably my ex-friend Laura... sad.

Your phone is ringing. It's the person you fell hardest for, what do you say?
*heart flutters* "Um, hi!" *tries to play it cool*

Will you be in a relationship in the next couple months?
Perhaps. Who knows? :D

Did you have any unread text messages when you woke up today?
No

Do you want to see somebody right now?
Yeah, my friends

Do you think two people can last forever?
Sure, why not? "Twu wuv... that dweam wivvin a dweam*" and all that.
*Princess Bride quote. Luv that movie.

When was the last time you had a late night phone call?
Like a month ago?

If you could move somewhere else, would you?
The list is endless. England. Out West. Greece. Etc.

Would you be able to date someone who doesn't make you laugh?
No way!

Has anyone ever sang to you?
Haha, yes <3

When was the last time you bit someone?
Um... I threatened to bite when I was pretending to be Legolas over at Elránia's and we made an AWESOME parody movie.

Do you think you can love someone without trusting them?
No way.

Is there someone who you can spend every minute with and be happy?
Um, not at the moment.

Last person to make you smile?
My aforementioned little cousin, Henry

Have you ever wasted too much time on a certain boy?
*sigh* I regret to say, YES.

How was last night?
Ehh... it was alright. I read "Kiki Strike" (a bit young but good nonetheless) but my cough was awful.

If you're being extremely quiet, what does it mean?
I'm either angry, or communicating telepathically.
This occurrence is rare.

Have you ever felt like you hit rock bottom?
Sometimes... not often, though.

Do you have trust issues?
With some people, yes. Sadly.

Was this a good weekend?
Sure, it was okay.

Were you happy when you woke up today?
Oddly enough, yes! (This may be due to my new rigorous exercise routine, though.)

I tag:
Anyone who actually read my answers. ;)
