LIFE // facepalm

Facepalm is a colloquial term referring to the physical gesture of striking one's own face in a display of exasperation. It is similar in function to a sigh. In Internet discussions, the term is used as an expression of [...] disgust or general woe. (via Wikipedia)
See also: facedesk - The act of planting one's face into a desk at high speeds, usually due to frustration. (via urbandictionary.com)
The above gif is more of a facedesk (technically, facecouch, since my forehead doesn't appreciate being slammed into desks), but I think the sentiment of a facepalm is still very appropriate.

Why the facepam/desk/couch? Today was my first day back in school after vacation. That is the only answer. Time has never ticked by so slowly. And we have eight more weeks of breakless, holidayless, vacationless school before the final week which is (o joy) full of our final exams.

Anyway. I need to get back on my feet after vacation (hello, C in math class last quarter) and *meep* I've started outlining for a new book. (Yes! Me, outlining! Isn't it bizarre? Ara made me see the light with the program FreeMind.) Add on a web design job and I am, to put it simply, swamped. So I've decided to take a short break from posting.

But do not worry; I am not gone forever (I estimate I'll be gone a week or so, maybe two) AND I have emailed some incredibly talented bloggers asking if they'd like to guest post in my absence, so horsefeathers will not lie dormant and there will still be tons of new stuff for everyone to read.
(If you'd like to apply to guest post, please email me. If one of my emailed ladies decides she'd rather not post I will consult my list of people who have emailed for backup.)

I'll pop in on Thursday to announce the winner of this week's giveaway and post the next one, too, so the weeklygiveaway will continue while I'm gone.

Basically this post is just to let y'all know that horsefeathers will be under foreign rule for a while. I hope you'll keep visiting, because I'm sure the lovely ladies who will be guest posting will have very interesting posts for you.

PS: I've added a bunch of new items to my Etsy shop if you'd care to browse, plus started my first "collection". Don't forget, you all get 15% off with the coupon code "BLOGLOVELIES". The newbies:

  4. HAHAHAHA. I prefer the term "headdesk" when referring to striking one's head on a desk.

  13. I feel weird, like I'm getting away with something by not doing school anymore!! :D But I can still remember the agony of Advanced Mathematics [think Pre-Calculus].

I started outlining in FreeMind...yesterday, I think. I have only one more element to discover and interweave into the story. I need to give my MC a motive and "sub-plot" to clash with the Antagonist. I wish you the best of luck with the new story!! :D
