INSPIRATION // dog days are over

I'm completely and utterly obsessed with this album by Florence + the Machine. It's so summery and reminds me of floaty tank tops and tribal prints.

And, for the record, dangerous things happen when all my friends are busy and I have nothing to do.

Sigh. Yes. I have too much time on my hands. I need a job or less busy friends or something.

I 'discovered' the album because of this utterly gorgeous video by Threadsence (also a bohemian and awesome...)

Gah. It needs to be summer so I can wear all this stuff. Also, who wants to donate like three million dollars so I can buy everything in the Threadsence store?

And this is the wicked-pretty music video for my second favorite song of the album...

One final note before I take my leave of this fragmented post: has anyone heard of Sedmikrasky? My friend Duncan showed me a clip, and it is the single most bizarre thing I have ever seen. Pretty awesome, though.

There! I think that's enough videos, don't you?

Clean week update: So far I have eaten a banana, since it is only 9:30. Check back later if you're interested.

  2. Funny, Olivia, because I just heard this song for the first time yesterday. I kind of thought it was weird at first and I would never hear the song again...I was wrong. :) I love the video you did!

  5. It makes me smile when I read American posts about Adele and Florence Welch {and soon Ellie Goulding maybe?} because they've been massively popular here in England and then every gets totally over-excited in America about them. This time last year, Florence + the Machine were being forever played on the radio so I know all the lyrics.

  10. I thought the songs were a little weird and could hardly understand them, but the music video you made was great. I wrote a script/outline for a video of one of my favorite songs, and it would look really good if someone made it, but I don't even have movie-making software, much less a good camera and a helicopter for the aerial shots! I also like the fairy tale dresses in the last video.

  21. Olivia, I was flipping through weheartit.com where I found at least twenty images of you from horsefeathers - of you, your photography, tagged under 'fashion', 'vintage', 'photography', etcetera - all posted by a girl called Stacey Blakely. Are you aware of this?

    xoxo, Erica.

  28. Oh, @Hannah: sometimes. Other times you get eaten by black flies and other such uncomfortable things. That's happened to me too. But it is nice to become friends with your fellow models, that definitely helps the shoot!

  29. Oh, I see! That's really clever for you to do it all on your own!
    You're amazing : )

  30. I see… do you think maybe you could do a post about what a typical modeling-job is like? I'll bet everyone would be interested :)
