FOOD // key lime pie is the most delicious and easy dessert you ever need to make

WOW. There have been a lot of videos lately! For people just visiting the blog, I do not live only with camera in hand.

My family is somewhat addicted to key lime pie; it's kind of distressing. Luckily it is incredibly quick and easy to make. Here's how, in words and (a new venture) video.

for the crust:
1 1/2 c graham cracker crumbs
1/3 c sugar
6 tablespoons melted butter
combine, shape in 9" pie plate, and bake at 375º for 8 minutes. remove and cool.

for the filling:
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c key lime juice
3 egg yolks
combine and pour into cooled crust. bake at 375º for 15 mins. remove and chill until serving.

enjoy! :)

ps: guest posting here today about completely changing your room. one weekend, very low budget, very fun. check it out!

  7. Hey Olivia,

I was just wondering..how do you get your "subscribe" thingy on the side where it shows how many readers you have?? I have the "follow via e-mail" gadget on mine, but it doesn't show how many readers I have until I go on design, look at the stats, blah blah blah. :P Any tips?

Also~~your drop down thingy works for me now! Yesh! Back to my favorite activity ever...click click click...;) Oh, and another question (haha, I'm bombarding you): HOW in the world do you get ahold of such amazing fonts??! I can't find good ones ANYWHERE! :P

  8. I never knew it was that easy! This is the best recipe I have ever seen- the shorter and easier, the more likely I won't ruin it and have my oven catch fire. :) But I love key lime pie and I'm excited to try it!

  10. As soon as I saw this I asked my dad to run to the grocery store.

Delicious. It just got out of the oven and I am in love.

    Thank you Olivia!

  11. @ Lucia: I think Feedburner offers it... the writing on the video is my handwriting, except for the "bake at 375º" bits, those are in Callie Hand.

@ Charming: Yes, we did. We filmed it with Em's Nikon D3100 and edited it with iMovie.

  13. I love key lime pie! And because our eggs are home-laid and make the pie yellow too, I put in two drops of green food coloring. I use the America's Test Kitchen recipe and it comes out great every time. :)

  14. @ Ellyn: ours are too. I kind of like the yellow, it's very cheerful.
