just some sketchbook photos

figured it was time for an update :)

possibly one of the best songs ever

or perhaps THIS is the best song ever...

sorry for the long post guys!

re: selling on Etsy: I dunno... most of my art is more of a journal; the images mean a certain day to me. Also I can't make anything look decent when it's finished, that's why these are all so messy...

also i was testing out the RAW vs JPEG on my camera and my cat photobombed me... twice...

last minute addition to the post // my attempt at le boyfriend. i have problems with drawing people i actually care about... and also with being realistic and stuffs

  14. Wow! I just love your art. So amazing! I also keep a journal like yours, only I use a fountain pen. I'd like to add some water colour paints, but I do it in bed every night and I am a klutz :P

  19. I don't really like any of these. Your last sketchbook update had such better drawings. This isn't ever really art. Cutting out a page from a magazine and writing lyrics on it isn't art. Anyone can do that. I agree, you really can't make anything look decent when it's finished. And the strange drawings. Don't get me wrong I normally love weird, disturbing art but these don't mean anything. The zombie "bite me" thing doesn't have any meaning at all. Real art has meaning that everyone can see. You need to get over yourself. and your "art"

  21. "Real art has meaning everyone can see"??! No. Part of the beauty of art is the process of searching for the meaning. In some pieces you have to go deeper than others.

  22. This is so far off topic, but I was wondering what happened to your lizard ^o^ If you never had one then this is embarrassing but I was reading your archives and the post "My Nest" popped up and I saw you had a lizard cage. :3

  24. fantastic. now, all I have to say is that different things appeal to different people. I don't find my drawings particularly weird or disturbing, but apparently everyone else does. that's okay, because above all my sketchbook is for myself. this is like 1/25th of the content; most is much more personal and not something I feel comfortable sharing. Like the bottom half of the zombie picture, I cropped that out because it was very personal and sort of an inside thing — that's probably why you assumed it didn't have meaning, but it really does to me because it represents a certain conversation which in turn represents a certain emotion towards a certain person. That's what my sketchbook is; coded representation that is like a journal to me without straightforward words.
And as far as the lyrics go, yeah, anyone can do that. I'm not trying to be super unique there, I just like the song, it inspires me, the lyrics are beautiful, so I put it in the book.
Anyone can do what Jackson Pollock did, too. But the point is, they didn't.

  25. And trust me, I am totally under myself (if that makes any sense). I'm not claiming to be some fancy schmancy artist. I'm not going to sell my sketchbook. I'm not going to put it in a gallery, or whatever. I'm not going to get all hoity-toity and call it MY WORK or MY MASTERPIECE or whatever. I'm not planning on going to school for art, nor do I consider myself much of an artist. I just doodle a lot.
My sketchbook is just a part of my life, and since a blog is for sharing your life, I figured I'd post a couple pictures.

  28. I understand, thank you for being mature enough to apologize. Though I suggest that next time you're having a bad day, you take it out on your sketchbook, not in a comment — anger often breeds the best drawings, for me.
