Hello, friends! I am pleased to introduce a new series: "Beautiful...". It will have about four or five video-illustrated posts, and will be (hopefully) complete by September 1 (which is when I start school... I think that's the norm) so you can put it to use during your school year. It focuses on how to emphasize your natural beauty, be it via hair, skin, makeup, or clothes.
These three videos are about makeup. Remember: it's easy to be too heavy-handed with eyeliner or go so crazy with blush you look like a china doll.
PS... my hair is messy, my eyes have huge circles under them from lack of sleep, I cough a lot thanks to my terminal summer cold, and the video is dark... I'm sorry!

Tutorial One: Natural Eyes
Tutorial Two: Glam It Up
Tutorial Three: Lip Sync
Great idea!
ReplyDeleteyou are too cute, olive tree! do you recommend using the same shades for a blonde like me?
ReplyDeletegreat tips :)
Useful! I personally don't use most makeup, but I do use lip gloss sometimes. And its an awesome idea to put these up, because people will find them really useful.

Oh, I loved the videos! So cute. Actually, I've never worn makeup before, except for dance recitals. Unfortunately, when one is in a recital, one is required to wear lipstick -- and that stuff is AWFUL. You have made a good choice to stay away from it! :)

Carlotta: try some bronze shades, it'll make you look sun-kissed and surfer-chic. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Olive Tree!! That was really helpful, since I'm not the totaly make-up know-it-all. All I wear is mascara and eyeshadow, is that okay? Also, in the first tutorial, when you blended the eyeshadow together, you used that... I don't know what it's called, but is it ok if you blend them with your finger instead? (Because I don't have that thing that you have..)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Olive Tree!

Brightstar, whatever works is totally fine. (You can get the makeup Qtips at Target, WalMart, or RiteAid for very cheap.
ReplyDeleteOkay thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese are great videos Olive Tree! I don't wear makeup yet (I'm 12) but if and when I start to I think these are great.
ReplyDeleteP.S
I don't even really care much for lipstick very much. If I ever do (which I rarely do) I'll wear lip gloss. Just light colors that sort of match my lips. Most of the time it's just lip balm (which actually always makes my lips look tinted).

Great tutorials!
ReplyDeleteWhat would you recommend for people with glasses?
{you can just reply to me here, I'll come back to see your answer}
Aww you are so pretty! Great Advice too.
ReplyDeleteHey um, I'm from katieskornerhere.blogspot.com, and I love ur header!! Can you tell me how u do it?
Awww you are so cute Olive Tree!!
ReplyDeleteAnd these tips are awesome!! :D
I think it's really cool that you not only gave tips on how to look more "done up", but you also gave tips for a more natural look! (most of the tutorials I've watched on the subject jump straight to the done up look and completely skip the natural one! Annoying much! lol)
But anyway, I'm totally going to try your tips!!
Thanks for the post!!!!!! XD
Nice tutorials, they were very helpful. :) I have that same tooth brush, haha!
ReplyDeleteGreat videos! I don't really wear make-up, but your tips and ideas will come in handy for me someday! Also, I really liked them because they are all about natural looks! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome, thanks Olive :)
ReplyDeleteCute idea, I will have to come back to watch the videos haha! I am SO JEALOUS that you don't start till September 1! I start Monday-the 16 of AUGUST! Gah!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! This is really cool, Olive Tree. Can't wait to see more. :)
ReplyDeleteNice Olive! I only watched the first video so far but I can tell you know a lot about makeup! I've worn makeup for about 6 months now and I just create my own looks lol :) I'll have to try your natural look though!
ReplyDeletethat is a good idea. i start school on the 25th. by the way, you are very pretty. :)

You have a summer cold, too? I had one in July...bleh.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon!
What did you use to make your header??
ReplyDeleteI use Photoshop CS4 for all photos and graphics.
ReplyDeleteHi there! :)
ReplyDeleteI just wanna say that I love your videos! I don't wear as much make-up as my sister does (she's younger than I am) but you did a really good job about explaining each tool of applying make-up to your eyes and lips.
I'll be sure to use your tips for make-up anytime soon. Thanks! :)
Oh my gosh I love these. Thank you so much for making them. You totally have me sold on the magical makeup Q-tip lol. And I love how you say things like "You need to smudge it here so it doesn't look retarded." so matter of fact. You had me laughing out loud! Great, great, great videos. :) I'll definitely be using these tips. You answered a lot of questions for me. Now the only problem I'll have is with the mascara getting all over my lid because I have long lashes and a deep crease, but I'm sure I can find something about that on the internet. Thank you again for taking the time to make these and I think you look great even if you are tired. :)
