Okay, so I *love* costumes. I love acting. I love photography. And I adore Greek mythology. So I hopped right on board. This morning, I raided Elránia's linen closet and came out with three bedsheets and a pillowcase. Yes, to wear. I proceeded to (with the aid of only safety pins and a long vest) fashion us four completely different Greek ensembles. Check it out!
Elránia went first as Aphrodite. Love it! This is the only 'real' chiton dress.
Next, I became Artemis, my favorite goddess — protector of women, goddess of the hunt, and guardian of the moon. I hadn't brought my bow and quiver, so I had to make do with this flimsy fake instead. For this, the pillowcase acts as the front of my fake-chiton, and the long vest was the back. They stayed together with a belt.
Here we see Elránia as Athena. I had fun with her toga — since the sheet was enormous, I brought the hem up and pinned it in the back. It's like a built-in belt!
Nice "sword", Elránia.
^^^ Expression of total evil, right there... ^^^
The dress may have been epic fun, but it was AWFUL to walk in! Look at how badly I'm failing here...
Later at the mall, we purchased some lovely goods {me: hat (below), sweater (below), liquid eyeliner, and an adorable London-themed shirt; Elránia: jeans and a really pretty shirt} and had fun with the photobooth! (Yes, unflattering wide-angle lens below. Not caring right now.)
So! I'm off to wander small towns and take photos. See you lovelies later!
