Homecoming

(I regret that I do not yet have any photos of the dance — they are on someone else's camera and will be emailed to me shortly. I'll update the post when I get them.)

Last night was our school's homecoming dance (mysteriously called the "Harvest Ball" for some inexplicable reason)! I had fun getting ready at a friend's house with some buddies. One girl, Natalie, has curly/poofy blonde hair and was wearing a halter dress... the combination made her look exactly like Marilyn Monroe! Alas, she would not let me pencil on a beauty mark. *weeps* My friend Kelly's mom was a Mary Kay salesgirl, so she did all our makeup. I straightened my hair for the first time in about a year and a half — horrifying, I know. My own mother didn't recognize me for a couple minutes when she came to drive us to the Ball.

The dance started at 8 pm and lasted until 11 pm. I had lots of fun with friends, and danced with (*counts*) four guys total. (This is nothing compared to the tally of my oft-dance-partner Anne, who totaled at 20. Goodness.) Everybody was dancing with everybody; nothing serious, just fun.

I have no complaints other than this: the DJs were awful! It was just a couple people up on the stage with their iPods. Sometimes they'd cut off midsong, and half the time nobody knew the songs they were playing. And there was only one slow song (Forever Young, if you can even call that a slow song)... what a pity!

So yeah. Pictures soon, I promise... *grumbles at Kelly*

  9. Hello, Olive tree!
I truly enjoy your posts-your photography is magnificent and your writing is extraordinary. :) For your title, how did you change the font from the standard blogger fonts to a custom one? For instance, instead of doing the boring header (for a post) you have the cute writing.

    Thanks! :)
