short-lived tyranny

I've been a bad bad blogger and haven't posted in a while. Wait, no, three days. Okay. I'm fine.

Tomorrow is — squee — Friday. Delicious, cherry-topped, bright orange Friday. (I'm trying to teach myself to have synesthesia. I'm fascinated by it — one of my friends tastes certain flavors depending on her emotions — and I can see colors for music if I concentrate.) Better yet, there's a school dance, so I get to dress all funky.

hat: Goodwill (antique fur for 99¢!) // shirt: Target // jeans: delia*s // boots: Timberland

Geek chic + bad lighting.

Mustache (I finally got one from this lovely lady) + gooseflesh. Brr.

I really enjoy putting together these outfit posts. It seems very artsy somehow... and I truly am getting better at self-portraits. I got a bit of sunset in these.

  1. Ha! LOVE the mustache necklace. I don't think I have ever known somebody your age to have a thing for mustaches.

And wow - you are gorgeous (I know you probably hear that a lot) but you have got stunning beauty on the inside and out. :)

  4. *love* the outfit! Wow, I went to that page you linked too about synesthesia and I discovered I do see words and numbers like the one shown on the page. Huh, I didn't know it was actually semi-unusual ;)

  5. Hannah, that is so cool! I recommend reading "A Mango-Shaped Space" — it is one of my favorite books to date and first made me aware of synesthesia.

  9. Ahhh, synesthesia, don't we all wish we had it after reading A Mango-Shaped Space?

I see colors and shapes if my eyes are closed while listening to something, and I tend to associate colors with some things, although it not how I see them. IDK.

  11. As much as I'd like to have synesthesia, you can't teach yourself to have it. For me, numbers have personalities, but it's because I associate them with certain things. The Wikipedia says: "While cross-sensory metaphors (e.g., "loud shirt," "bitter wind" or "prickly laugh") are sometimes described as "synesthetic," true neurological synesthesia is involuntary."
I love "A Mango-Shaped Space," by the way. What first made me aware of it was "The Name of This Book is Secret," also an awesome book (with a sequel, threequel, and fourquel, I think! lol.)
